If you've registered for GDC, you can use the same login credentials. Adding a session to your schedule does not guarantee you a seat. Sessions do fill up, so please arrive early to sessions that you would like to attend.
Joshua McVeigh-Schultz is a Postdoctoral Scholar studying social VR in the Social & Emotional Technology Lab at UCSC. He earned a PhD in Media Arts and Practice from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and an MFA in Digital Arts & New Media from UCSC. He is currently researching social VR and studying how design choices can shape social interaction in this evolving medium. Drawing on a hybrid background in media arts and social sciences, his dissertation research focused on the intersection between speculative design and ritual. He was awarded an Intel PhD Fellowship for his dissertation research. After his PhD, he led research on creative collaboration in virtual and mixed reality and published on immersive design fiction. He has conducted research with a range of labs and industry partners including: USC’s Mobile & Environmental Media Lab, Intel Labs’ Interaction Experience Research Group, Microsoft Research’s Social Media Collective, Steelcase Workspace Futures, and the Institute for the Future's Emerging Media Lab.
