The session will introduce Pearl Abyss’s voxel-based navigation system for Black Deserton PC, mobile, console and the game server, as well as how to efficiently implement voxel data. The session will highlight features of the voxel-based navigation system such as the increased speed of content development, critical to online games that require constant communication and engagement with players and fast update patches in response to player feedback.
Attendees will gain insight into how Pearl Abyss implemented voxel-based navigation to the creation of the expansive open world of the MMORPG Black Desert.
This session is intended for programmers interested in monster AI in an open world MMO game and for those interested in optimizing the size of voxel data and speed of file i/o.
