A producer's job is to make sure the game gets done. But if shipping a great game was easy, everyone would do it. How do you, the producer, make sure the critical features get done, that the final game lives up to the design vision, and that your team does work they're proud of without burning out? The answer is process. But if you don't know what the heck process is, that answer doesn't help you. This talk will explain what process is, what it's for, and how you can use it to make sure your game gets done.

Takeaway

This talk will give an overview of the role of a producer and the value of project management process on a game development team. Attendees will hear about different types of process, and will learn techniques for how to apply the right process to their game team's unique needs.

Intended Audience

Producers (junior and mid-level), students interested in becoming producers, or developers who do some production as part of their job or who want to learn more about process and team structure.
