How does one get a job as a Narrative Designer or a Game Writer? What skills are needed to become one? How does one even apply for those kinds of jobs? The purpose of this talk is to demystify the application process and provide a general understanding of how to break into the field for aspiring game writers and narrative designers.


Attendees will get practical advice for building portfolios, interviewing, tackling writing tests, and what to do once they get the job. The presenters will also share personal experiences and the unique challenges they faced when transitioning from other fields into narrative design and game writing, as well as what they look for when hiring writers and narrative designers.

Intended Audience

The target audience of this session is anyone who wants to learn how to become a narrative designer or game writer, and the best practices of applying for such roles. There is no prerequisite knowledge required.
