The work landscape of the industry is changing. While there are fewer permanent jobs, studios are more and more open to working with freelancers and independent contractors. But this doesn’t mean the freelance life is getting easier. Do you go with a flat-rate or hourly fee? Can you identify predatory practices in prospective clients? What clauses should you have in your contract? How do you keep yourself going when finding work is difficult? This roundtable offers encouragement, support, and guidance for finding work in good and lean times, negotiating what you’re worth, and developing your freelancing skills.

Takeaway

During these two roundtables, attendees will share their experiences and strategies for working successfully as freelancers. The moderators will provide topics and facilitate discussions that are pressing issues for all freelancers.

Intended Audience

These roundtables are designed for devs interested in becoming freelancers, freelancers of all experience levels, and devs who are looking to work with freelancers.
