The work landscape of the industry is changing. While there are fewer permanent jobs, studios are more and more open to working with freelancers and independent contractors. Each of these roundtables will cover topics that freelancers need to understand to be successful in the games industry. Is freelancing the right path to take? How do people get good-paying freelance jobs, and how do they stay away from problematic clients? How do freelancers come up with their rates, and how do they negotiate with clients to get what they're asking? These roundtables offer support, encouragement, and guidance.
During these two roundtables, attendees will share their experiences and strategies for working successfully as freelancers. The moderators will provide topics and facilitate discussions that are pressing issues for all freelancers.
These roundtables are designed for devs interested in becoming freelancers, freelancers of all experience levels, and devs who are looking to work with freelancers.
