The job of the game designer doesn't stop once players start playing the game, it's only just beginning. Whether a small beta test or a global launch, player actions can provide a wealth of information about how your game really works. This session will cover how to use data to make your game even better and how it was used for the launch of 'Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem'. Go beyond tracking product metrics and learn to use analytics to track exactly what players are doing and how you can use that to improve your design. Join veteran mobile designer Evan Losi and explore the deep world of data-driven design.
Audience members will leave the session with an improved understanding of the use of data in game design. Designers new to the concept will receive an introduction to the concept while more advanced practitioners will see examples of best practices used in top mobile games.
This session is intended for designers wishing to improve their analytical skills, product managers wishing to improve their ability to positively influence the game's design, and everyone in between. No previous knowledge of analytics is necessary. The talk will focus on design goals, not technical implementation.
